SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

This staff role is accountable for architecting and developing integrations to seamlessly connect systems across the enterprise. This individual is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of a integrations that enables Exelixis users to seamlessly execute business processes by eliminating manual data entry and orchestrating end to end business processes. This individual will have extensive integration design, API engineering and AWS experience, with expertise in development ofthe delivery of integrations as part of a product team. They should also have excellent organization and communication skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure architecture are scalable and promote reuse: Develop a visionary product strategy that adeptly balances people, processes, technology, and data.
  • Efficient Delivery of features as a key member of a product team: Manage development, collaborate with other product team members, facilitate and lead design sessions, document best practices, mentor staff engineers
  • Learn and keep up to date on the latest integration technologies and design patterns: Originate technological concepts and provide guidance to nurture these concepts into refined, deployable products.
  • Develop and promote good engineering practices Manage, review and provide feedback on code as part of a CI/CD team. Development efficient code integration and deployment pipelines
  • Execute Agile Methodologies and Product-Centricity: Lead daily scrum meetings, plan new features, stories and remove obstacles

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 6 years of related experience; or

  • Master's degree in related discipline and 4 years of related experience; or

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Experience with iterative development, integration architectures, API engineering, Agile methodologies, and with common software development tracking tools such as GitHub, Jira, and Confluence

  • Proven experience in developing scalable and resuable systems integrations

  • Demonstrated capability delivering large and complex integration initiatives

  • Extensive hands-on experience building on AWS Cloud infrastructure including IAM, resource provisioning, networking, and monitoring

  • Demonstrate ability to lead requirement and design sessions with stakeholders, drive alignment and decision making

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, characterized by varying backgrounds, personalities, and skill levels.

  • Strong customer-facing, oral, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with business partners, stakeholders, and technical staff.

  • The ability to define and articulate complex data architectures and processes.

  • An aptitude for working autonomously, adapting to changing priorities, and responding to ad-hoc requests with agility.

  • In-depth knowledge and hands on experience with Python, DBT, ELT, SQL, AWS Glue, Athena and technologies essential for building scalable data platforms and pipelines.

  • Experience managing DBT, Airflow, Terraform, Tableau and related data management technologies

  • In-depth understanding of modern data architectures, such as lake houses and data mesh

  • In-depth understanding of CI/CD practices and experience implementing them

  • Experience with a cloud integration platform such as SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft or Dell Boomi

  • Experience integrating with SAP ERP

  • Experience with API management and EDI

  • Experience with API design and development

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Environment: primarily working indoors in an office setting

  • Work off hours and weekends as required

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $215,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
