Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Business Development to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in Shanghai. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on exciting BD projects and position our China business for future success.

The successful candidate will need to apply critical thinking and business acumen to assess BD opportunities, engage external companies, facilitate negotiations, coordinate internal resources, lead & execute projects over a full deal cycle.

This is a China level role with broad exposure to all Thermo Fisher's businesses and end markets, a great learning and career development opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and identify BD opportunities through fact-based analysis
• Develop compelling justifications for BD initiatives, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and licensing agreements.
• Engage potential partners and manage communications & relationships
• Participate in due diligence, deal structuring, and negotiations
• Oversee the deal process and execution to achieve objectives

Requirements:

• 8+ years of working experience, with a significant amount spent in business development, M&A, financial advisory, or management consulting
• Strong academic background, with preference given to those with an MBA or equivalent experience.
• Ability to think strategically and align with company objectives for the long term.
• Strong analytical and technical skills to evaluate opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Fluency in both Chinese and English
• Ability to think critically and analyze complex problems from multiple perspectives.
• Motivated, highly organized, friendly, and adept at working collaboratively
• Experience in relevant industries a plus (e.g., life science, analytical instruments, medical device)
