Job Description
Elwood is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our Legal team in London or Jersey. As part of the role, the individual will have broad responsibilities for both UK and non-UK tax matters, as outlined below. The role requires the individual to work closely with internal members of staff and external professional advisors.
Responsibilities:
Tax compliance:
- UK Corporation tax return and tax disclosure preparation
- UK Partnership tax return preparation
- US tax compliance
- R&D claim assistance
- Preparation of annual partnership statements for UK LLP members and provision of any relevant tax disclosure notes to help file UK Self-Assessment tax returns
Employer related filings:
- PSA filing
- Employment Related Securities filings
- Employee share option plan β oversee relevant filings are made as required for all applicable Elwood entities, across multiple jurisdictions
Ad hoc Tax advisory:
- Respond to ad-hoc tax queries relating to corporate, employment, indirect and direct fund tax matters, liaising with professional advisers as necessary
- VAT
- Transfer Pricing
- Global mobility queries
- Restructuring
- IR35
- US tax queries
- Keep on top of relevant updates/changes in tax legislation
- FATCA/CRS filings
- Taxable benefit queries
- Review corporate and commercial agreements from a tax perspective
Qualifications / Knowledge
- 4+ years PQE
- Relevant accounting / tax qualification (ACA or equivalent)
- Financial services / Investment management experience
- Exposure to LLP / partnership tax matters (desirable)
- UK and international tax experience
- Good IT skills, especially Excel
- US tax knowledge and/or experience
- Employment tax / IR35 knowledge and / or experience (Desirable)
- Proactive, self-motivated and a team player
- Detail-oriented with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Motivation to succeed and deliver results in line with expectations
- Ability to understand challenging problems, find solutions and drive process improvement
