We’re growing and looking for aSenior Tax Manager Team Leadto join our high-performing Management Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional with 5-8 years of leadership experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both leadership and execution. You won’t just guide and develop your team; you’ll also maintain a portfolio of clients and be deeply involved in the technical work. Responsibilities: • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and federal/state income tax returns • Directly manage and serve a portfolio of clients while ensuring deliverables are accurate, timely, and compliant • Lead and manage a team of analysts and senior staff, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence • Resolve complex tax and accounting issues and support client planning efforts • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality • Participate in the hands-on preparation of deliverables, as needed, particularly for high-priority or complex client engagements • Manage confidential client information with discretion • Meet productivity and billable hour expectations • Stay current with IRS Circular 230 and the AICPA Professional Code of Conduct • Lead and complete special projects with minimal revision and clear deadlines • Communicate directly with clients on a wide range of topics Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) • CPA preferred; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus • 5+ years of progressive experience in insurance company accounting and/or tax, with at least 3 years in a direct leadership or managerial role • Demonstrated success in leading teams while also managing client-facing work • Proven ability to influence, motivate, and develop staff within a performance-driven culture • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of professionalism and discretion • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks • Deep knowledge of SAP, GAAP, and IRS Tax Code and Regulations What We Offer: • Medical & Dental Coverage– 100% of employee premiums paid by GPW • 401(k) with Immediate Eligibility– 60% company match on up to 6% of compensation, and 3% Safe Harbor contribution fully vested from day one, with employee participation • Paid Time Off– 21 days of PTO in your first year, 7 paid holidays, and 3 floating holidays • Paid Parental Leave– Support for major life moments • Tuition Reimbursement– Encouraging continued growth • Hybrid Work Model– After an initial in-office period, most employees are eligible for a 3/2 hybrid schedule • Compensation -All positions are eligible for a target bonus based on company and personal performance Join a firm where excellence is non-negotiable and your contributions matter.
