SFI is seeking a Senior Technical Manager and Solution Architect to join our team supporting a Federal Agency in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. As a key member of our team, the Senior Technical Manager will interface with the customers and lead/manage a range of activities including requirements collection and analysis, technical architecture design, software design, implementation, debugging, as well as enhancing existing systems. Prior experience leading large, enterprise-level software development efforts using Java-centric technologies is a critical requisite for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Interface directly with customer and act as a solution provider for a variety of business problems
Lead a team to architect and design software applications utilizing best technology practices
Lead agile teams to develop and deploy software utilizing DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline
Work with Office of Information Security to ensure that software components meet the information security requirements
Lead the team to design and implement a scalable, secure, end-to-end software products
Lead project teams to design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement customer software products
Lead a project team to research, architect, design, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements
Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements
Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools
Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
Effective verbal and written communication with senior-level management and leadership on the customer side

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
10 years' experience leading software development and architecture projects
Knowledge of/experience using Agile/Scrum methodology
Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline
Strong technical leadership and software project management experience
Experience leading teams to develop innovatie Java-centric scalable enterprise custom applications
Experience with AWS tools, applications development, and migration
Ability to manage multiple concurrent software development projects simultaneously
Strong interpersonal communication skills to maintain an effective working relationship with development teams and customers

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

Working experience with GitLab
Experience working with large-scale relational database system (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)
Experience with Web Application, Microservices Webs service (SOAP or RESTful ) development and deployment

Additional Information:

In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be a US Citizen.
One-Time travel to Suitland, MD to pick up equipment is required.
Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems. You must have lived in the US for the past three (3) years.

Other Information:

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $160,000.
