Position Overview
The PDMS organization at Autodesk is tasked with building the world's best design and manufacturing platform by serving the needs of professionals across the entire product development process, from initial concept ideation through to manufacturing. The Autodesk Fusion 360 team is looking for a Senior User Experience Designer with a passion for crafting elegant, scalable solutions for complex problems, who's ignited by the opportunity to grow their career with a global team of design professionals.
In this role, you will apply your experience design and research skills to craft design patterns that will create the foundation for the next generation of design and engineering CAD tools. You'll work with a talented team of User Experience Designers and Experience Architects, as well as stakeholders from Product Management, Software Engineering, Software Architecture, Content Development, and Quality Assurance, to create compelling experiences that help our customers solve their most critical design and manufacturing problems.
We're looking for designers who are excited by the prospect of untangling complex problems and requirements, then rationalizing them into simple, elegant solutions. Your role will involve understanding the needs of both end users and internal product teams, distilling and clarifying those needs, and creating solutions that follow our UX strategy to both delight customers and meet business objectives and deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Create design patterns that scale across multiple use cases and product domains by researching, understanding, and distilling a broad set of customer needs
- Communicate designs through low- and high-fidelity UI mockups, written and diagrammatic documentation, and prototypes for testing, validation and production
- Present design work in UX review sessions and broader stakeholder presentations, taking constructive feedback and applying that further design iterations
- Advocate for the Autodesk design system, relentlessly applying design standards and championing for consistency and cohesiveness, with a mindset of creating scalable reusable patterns
- Develop cross-functional partnerships, engage stakeholders, and influence design approach through data-centric and user-centric lens
- Lead experience design initiatives and help set strategy by evaluating and identifying the intersection of business needs, customer needs, and technical opportunities
- Engage as an active member of an exciting, diverse and global design community
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of related professional user experience design experience
- Solid understanding of design systems, design patterns and reusable components
- Demonstrated ability to visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations to technical documents and diagrams
- Good communicator and storyteller, able to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, Interaction design, or equivalent work experience
- Experience of building a design system or contributing to a design system
- Experience designing for applications spanning desktop, web & mobile experiences for SaaS, cloud-based software
- Experience working in large and/or distributed organizations
- Experience within the fields of Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with 3D design/engineering/manufacturing software (Solidworks, Inventor, Pro/Engineer, etc.)

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $103,200 and $178,090. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
