We are currently hiring Journeyman across DFW. A Journeyman works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee and direct the work of a crew of 1 to 5 helpers or apprentices in installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type of project. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Interprets drawings and develops an overall crew work plan. • Lays out work and preps materials for installation. • Does rigging and job set ups for all tasks performed or supervised. • Performs underground layout and rough-in. • Determines wire and conduit sizing. • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders. • Installs BUSS feeders. • Performs switchgear installation and terminations. • Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints. • Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment. • Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks. • Understands and instructs assigned helpers in the safe operation of tools, use of equipment, electrical principles, and applicable codes. • Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor. • Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. Must understand basic electrical theory and its application to installations. Must be able to work occasional overtime as required. Licenses:Journeyman’s License, current Driver’s License and must have own reliable transportation. Education:High School Graduate, GED or equivalent. Experience:Must have completed a qualified apprenticeship program and have over 8000 hours of on-the-job work experience.
