Broadcom's Core Switching Group (CSG) is looking for a Signal Integrity Engineer to become a key member of

the hardware development team. You will work with cross functional teams to drive system architecture and

design systems with flagship CSG switch devices including Tomahawk product family.

CSG develops large and highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) devices for a wide variety of market segments

from Enterprise to MSDC. Our team is vertically integrated and designs reference and validation 112Gbps NRZ

and 224G PAM4 systems including developing test vehicles to explore future generation technology. Come

Responsibilities• Design, optimize, simulate, validate and troubleshoot high speed SERDES channels, 200Gbps and beyond• Develop models with EM field solvers (Ansys HFSS, etc)• Perform channel margin analysis to provide design tradeoffs between package, PCB and interconnect• Work with SERDES IP, Packaging, PCB teams and suppliers on identifying solutions• Evaluate board/package materials and connector solutions for future designs.• Perform and develop VNA/TDR (50GHz+) measurements and correlate with models and simulations• Drive next generation system feasibility studies• Follow and influence industry and standards communities with implementation constraints• Drive methodology improvements and automation to optimize scalable SI workflows• Generate specifications, guidelines and system design rules for internal development and customers

Other Responsibilities• Organize and manage multiple projects• Develop, clearly and effectively document, and track project plans• Effectively communicate complex concepts in conversation, presentations and written documents• Determine and document applicable requirements for ASIC package and PCB designs, drawing from

industry standards, customer requirements, and internal performance goals• Document and deliver SI models with supporting documentation to customer and internal engineers• Support customer analysis and debug efforts

Required Qualifications• BS +12yrs, MS +10 yrs or PhD +7yrs Electrical Engineering or Physics and years experience• Extensive experience in signal integrity, high speed and RF system design, and channel modeling• Hands on experience in tuning and optimizing PCB structures• Working knowledge of PCB fabrication techniques and limitations• Experience with sampling and real-time oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and optical oscilloscopes.• Working knowledge of Cadence Allegro tools to perform layout reviews• Hands on experience with debugging SERDES channels• Experience with AMI SERDES models• Strong scripting and automation skills• Strong Signal Processing and Digital Signal Processing background (Desired)• Experience all 25G, 50G, 100G and 200G ethernet standards or similar (Desired)

Additional Job Description:

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $210,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
