Site Welder

Summary The Site Welder is responsible for carrying out climbing wall construction and installation tasks on gym projects. This role involves steel fabrication, erection, basic carpentry, equipment operation, and site preparation. Installation using a variety of methods, including stick welding and steel fabrication/installation. Operate hand and power tools of all types and a variety of construction equipment and instruments. In addition, may clean and prepare sites, and install panels. The role also requires consistent adherence to safety protocols, effective teamwork, and a strong work ethic. Candidates must demonstrate time management, data integrity, and a commitment to Vertical Solutions' standards of craftsmanship. Work involves heights, varying temperatures, and physical labor in a dynamic and collaborative field environment.Estimated duration of project is 2-3 months starting at beginning of August 2025. Ability to Travel preferred. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES // • Read plans and design drawings to fabricate metal using techniques such as welding, shearing, and sawing • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), general directions, quality-control programs and safety requirements for all production operations • Handles tools of various types including heavy machinery • Examine completed work for defects, and measure pieces with straightedges and templates to ensure conformance with specifications; report nonconforming material to Shop Foreman for quality assurance • Load and unload materials • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures • Report all unsafe activities to manager • Use lean concepts for individual tasks • General labor work (e.g. Sweep, clean up job site, run errands, use hammer and saw, demolition, etc.) • Keep a clean, organized working environment and assist in maintaining machinery and tools; • Additional duties may be assigned in various functions of Vertical Solutions. REQUIREMENTS // • Minimum 1-2 years MIGArc welding experience • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in the workforce • Wear company provided safety equipment IE (harness, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses) • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment • Ability to work and participate effectively in a team environment • Valid driver license • Forklift certified preferred • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred • Welding certification preferred • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. • Passion for developing and implementing operational checklists to ensure consistency, efficiency, and organization. WORK ENVIORMENT// Work is performed at active construction sites and involves physical exertion including lifting, climbing, crouching, and use of tools. Employees work at heights, in confined spaces, and under various temperature/weather conditions. Exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous materials is expected.
