Slitter Machine Operator

The Slitter Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate setup and operation of slitting machines used to process sheet metal and coil stock for HVAC duct work products. This position ensures materials are cut to precise specifications, supporting downstream fabrication, assembly, and product quality. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation & Setup · Set up and calibrate slitting machines according to work orders and HVAC duct material specifications. · Safely load, mount, and secure coils using hoists and hand tools. · Assemble cores, collars, plates, and shafts as required for each run. · Monitor slitter operation to ensure speed, alignment, and cut accuracy meet requirements. Production Quality · Inspect sheet metal rolls during runs and perform final quality checks. · Make adjustments to correct any width, alignment, or edge-quality issues. · Accurately complete production logs, inventory transactions, labels, and time sheets.
