Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Social Strategist at IBM you will oversee the building and evolution of the company’s social media presence in Japan. As part of the Japan Communications and Social Media team you are responsible for translating IBM’s brand story across the social channels (e.g. LinkedIn Facebook YouTube)adapting content for platforms the Japanese audience and culture and geo-specific priorities. In this position you will build informed (by business research and culture) social strategies in partnership with teammates and cross-functional teams driving plans through to execution and measurement.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Social Strategy:
• Develop and implement social media strategies that align with the organization’s marketing and communications objectives using a researched approach that considers platform strengths target audience and platform best practices
• Monitor and measure social media performance and use data to optimize social media strategy over time
• Leverage deep curiosity to build an understanding of the market target audiences and IBM’s offerings to create the most compelling messaging and content
• Develop a keen understanding of how to connect business priorities to culture through intentional social storytelling
• Build relationships with key platform partners to remain up-to-date and serve as a point person for social marketing within the broader organization
• Manage internal stakeholders invested in respective business focus areas and priorities
Creative Development:
• Develop simple creatives for social media posts such as short videos or infographics
• For complex creative development provide feedback on creative copy and social strategy to internal creative resources and agency
This is a Hybrid role attendance to the office is currently required only 3 times per week.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience in managing social media either in-house or at an ad or PR agency
• Experience as a project manager including owning/executing a strategic project from start to finish
• Experience building compelling social strategies from a brand POV using deep knowledge of the social media landscape
• Demonstrated communication and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications in Japanese (Native or JPLT N1)
• Experience in working with global stakeholders in English
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Working knowledge of project management tools such as Slack Trello Airtable and Box
• Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools such as Sprinklr and Khoros is a plus
• Graphic and video editing skills (Adobe Photoshop Adobe Premier Pro)
• Understanding of social media landscape in Japan
