Position Summary

Caribou Thunder is seeking a Software Architect to provide technical support and guidance to the software development team. In this role, you will act as a mentor to the team, review software requirements and designs, and ensure software quality through adherence to best practices. As a Software Architect, you will also serve as a technical liaison between the software team and customers, providing detailed status updates and participating in design reviews.

Complete Description

As a Software Architect at Caribou Thunder, you will play a vital role in supporting and leading the software development team from a technical perspective. You will act as a mentor to software developers, integrators, and the test team, providing guidance and expertise in software engineering principles and best practices.

• Your responsibilities will include reviewing new software requirements and change requests, analyzing them for quality and technical understanding, and creating estimates for software change requests and requests for quotations (RFQs).
• You will review and audit developer code changes, ensuring adherence to software architectural design at both low and high levels.
• Additionally, you will contribute to high-level architecture design, including static and dynamic architecture and interfaces, as required.
• Software safety design analysis and participation in software design change/reviews with customers and other suppliers will be part of your role. You will support and participate in reviews of the software integration test specification and provide guidance to resolve open findings.
• Ensuring software quality through the application of development best practices will be a key focus.

Minimum Requirements

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Knowledge of process models, such as Automotive SPICE®
• Strong experience in software development using C or C++
• Strong knowledge of embedded operating systems (OSEK, Autocore, or similar)
• Experience with 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers, DSPs, or multi-core controllers
• Experience with GIT or similar versioning tools
• Experience with IBM Rational DOORS
• Familiarity with automotive network interfaces (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
• Effective communication and reporting skills will be essential as you communicate detailed technical issues to software project management and customers as needed

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with AUTOSAR basic software (BSW) configuration tools such as EB Tresos, Vector DaVinci, or similar configurators
• Experience with multi-core software architecture design
• Experience with diagnostics and error handling
• Experience with functional safety or cyber security
• Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSM)
• Experience with Enterprise Architect
• Experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Experience with Python
