Software Dev Team Lead

Introduction
IBM recently announced that it acquired Polar Security a DSPM pioneer. Polar’s solution which is now part of IBM Guardium automatically sensitive data across cloud service providers such as AWS cloud and SaaS apps and identifies vulnerabilities.

IBM is now working on a new Guardium AI Security product. This new product will allow customers to automatically discover where they have AI deployments across their cloud and SaaS environments detect vulnerabilities to improve posture and finally protect the AI deployments.

This position will be leading a team for the new AI security product that will work in parallel with the DSPM team which originated from Polar.

We are seeking a skilled hands on backend team lead to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team you will be responsible for leading developers developing and maintaining high-quality software products working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Your main duties will include leading a team of talented backend engineers designing and implementing new features optimizing and maintaining existing code and ensuring the software meets high-quality standards through testing and debugging. You will also work closely with other team leaders developers designers and product managers to ensure the software meets user needs.

What you’ll do:
• Hands on leading of a team of software engineers supporting backend development on a new product in the AI Security space
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential automation opportunities and define project requirements.
• You will take part in the architecture design and implementation
• Write clean concise code that is stable extensible and unit-tested appropriately
• Diagnose complex issues evaluate recommend and execute the best solution
• Test software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements
• Write code that meets the production requirements and design specifications and anticipate potential errors/issues.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 1 + years of experience being a team leader
• 3 + years of experience and a great passion for software engineering and code
• 2+ years of development experience in cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud IBM Cloud)
• Experience in enterprise-related development (scalability performance)
• 2+ years of development experience with Dockers Kubernetes and OpenShift technologies
• Working experience and/or deep knowledge in AI engineering – Advantage
• Experience developing SaaS platforms
• Back-end development experience preferably in NodeJS and Typescript
• Experienced in working with micro-service architecture & cloud-native services
• Experience working with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins Git
• Excellent communication skills self-managed and a team player
