Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Software Developer will support the NGA Digital Maker Services (DMS) Developer Experience (DevX) Outreach team in St Louis, MO or Springfield, VA.

In this position you will:

• Apply expertise and provide guidance to accelerate the development and deployment of operational services.
• Guide development teams in choosing DevSecOps pipeline and platform technologies to ensure software is produced efficiently and securely while leveraging technologies, such as AWS and VMWare Tanzu.
• Provide concierge services for government and contract developers to enable them to leverage DMS technical capabilities.
• Develop and present introductory training workshops and labs for the DMS pipeline, including CI/CD tools, software repositories, security, and hosting technologies.
• Manage and provide O&M services to NGA virtual development environments hosted in the cloud.
• Maintain DevX user portal to provide current information on DMS capabilities, including DevSecOps pipeline tools as well as processes for acquiring access to them.

Education

BS in Computer Science or a related discipline with 12 plus years' experience; MS in Computer Science or related discipline with 9+ years' experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. USCitizen and Top Secret SCI – Willing to take Polygraph
2. Skilled in computer programming, software development, software engineering
3. Writing code using Python, Java, or other modern programming language for Microsoft or Linux platform.
4. Using Scrum framework and rapid development cycles.
5. Building CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab or Jenkins.
6. Developing capabilities for the cloud, specifically AWS.
7. Familiarity with NGA mission and organization.
8. Using Linux operating system.
