Job Description
Job Summary:
Mueller Water Products is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), a technical software test engineer with a focus on developing automated tests. In addition to participating in typical QA activities, this engineer will be a part of an Agile team and will work alongside developers to help automate the Acceptance Criteria in user stories--setting up frameworks on multiple application platforms (Web, Mobile, and Desktop). A successful candidate will also be able to test data movement workflows in an automated fashion and will have a good working knowledge of cloud computing with a preference for AWS.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Code, maintain, and operate automated tests on web and mobile platforms
- Create and manage bug reports
- Building test scenarios and frameworks based on acceptance tests
- Work with deployments teams to resolve issues
- Collaborate with the development team on bug fix verification and validation (regression testing)
- Support, design, develop, and enhance test and reporting processes
- Working knowledge and understanding of automated testing suites for REST APIs
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as an SDET, developer, or strong Automation Engineer
- BS CE, or CS degree or comparable technical certifications + work experience
- 4+ years' experience in software quality assurance
- Proven track record of leading complex initiatives to closure
- Knowledge of Python, .NET, Java or other programming languages
- Strong SQL experience
- Experience with "AGILE + DevOps" process management methodology
- A working knowledge of multiple test methodologies and the related tools, i.e., MS Test, NUnit, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, etc.
- Exposure to cloud managed services - AWS, GCP, or Azure (AWS Preferred)
- Exposure to multiple software development lifecycle methodologies and practices - BDD, SBE or TDD
- Debugging/troubleshooting experience on performance and stability tools
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud-based testing using Cloud Synthetics and Puppeteer
- Experience with performance and scale testing frameworks like Artillery
