We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Cross-Skilled Development Lead with expertise in both Android and iOS development. This role is critical in leading a dedicated team focused on post-production defect analysis, resolution, and maintenance for mobile and TV applications across Android Mobile, Android TV, iOS Mobile, and Apple TV platforms.

As a hands-on leader, you will guide the team in delivering high-quality fixes, ensuring quick turnaround times while maintaining the stability and performance of live applications. Your ability to seamlessly navigate both Android and iOS ecosystems, coupled with leadership and debugging expertise, will play a vital role in enhancing the user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Defect Analysis & Resolution

• Take ownership of development and post-production defect management for Android and iOS platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis of reported issues and guide the team in implementing robust fixes.
• Ensure all fixes adhere to coding standards and best practices, maintaining application stability and performance.

Cross-Platform Expertise

• Act as the bridge between Android and iOS teams, ensuring consistency in features, user experience, and performance.
• Lead the evaluation and integration of cross-platform solutions when applicable (e.g., shared code libraries).

Technical Leadership

• Lead a cross-skilled team of engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Review code changes for bug fixes, ensuring high-quality standards.
• Define processes and best practices for efficient defect resolution and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate closely with QA, support teams, and stakeholders to understand reported issues and prioritize resolutions.
• Work with backend teams to debug and resolve cross-platform issues.
• Regularly update project managers and stakeholders on defect trends, resolution timelines, and risks.

Process Improvement

• Identify recurring issues and recommend proactive measures to prevent them.
• Optimize the defect management process to improve resolution times and reduce production downtimes.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience:

• 6 to 10 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Android and iOS platforms.
• Proven experience in debugging and resolving production issues in live applications.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Android development (Kotlin, Java) and iOS development (Swift, Objective-C).
• Expertise in debugging tools and techniques for both platforms (e.g., Android Studio, Xcode, Crashlytics, etc.)
• Familiarity with video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH) and playback libraries (ExoPlayer, AVFoundation).
• Solid understanding of version control (Git) and CI/CD processes.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under tight deadlines.

Additional Requirements:

• Experience with TV application development (Android TV, Apple TV).
• Familiarity with analytics and monitoring tools (e.g., Firebase, New Relic).
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Kanban) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
