About Your Role:
We are looking for a Software Engineer, 2 to be part of our award-winning development team. You'll work on a team of frontend and backend developers supporting the expanding business needs of a custom, high performance web application framework. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment to fulfill feature requests from multiple business groups while supporting developers across the company leveraging the framework.
About Your Contributions:
Build, extend, and maintain a growing library of Dotdash Meredith components, data connectors, and web platform integration points.
Contribute to the identification and prioritization of technical debt.
Develop and maintain robust and performant software while working in a team and taking ownership of your individual contributions
Participate in code reviews and help ensure that code quality stays high.
Promote performance best practices and technical decisions that ensure our brands remain the fastest content platforms on the web.
Keep up with new technologies and approaches to solve problems and improve existing systems while sharing and advocating for technologies that are relevant to tasks at hand
About You:
3+ years in a backend web development position
Knowledge of modern Java and concurrency mechanisms
Strong command of the underlying foundations of web frameworks with experience using Spring or a similar platform.
Experience with REST and/or GraphQL architectures, distributed caching, and application performance tuning
Awareness of HTTP services and other technologies underpinning web servers.
Insight into system design and architecture fundamentals
Experienced with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
Understanding of SDLCs and CI/CD as well as a test driven mindset
Interested in researching new technologies and approaches to address business needs
Love of working with others in achieving common goals
Capable of automating repetitive tasks, such as configuration management, in a shell or other scripting environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field or foreign equivalent

Pay Range
Salary: $72,500 - $124,100
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
