Meredith Operations Corporation has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 in Seattle, Washington.
The position duties are as follows: Responsible for overseeing a technical domain, which may encompass one or more teams. Daily duties include:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, a related technical field or foreign equivalent, followed by at least 5 years of progressively responsible software development experience. In lieu of a Bachelor's plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's plus 3 years of software development experience. Experience must include:
3 years of experience with REST, service architecture, monitoring, and the tenants of horizontal scalability
3 years of experience working in an Agile environment
3 years of experience with test automation including unit and end to end testing and associated tools
3 years of experience with object oriented and functional software design patterns
3 years of experience developing production services and applications leveraging continuous integration and deployment in the cloud with AWS, Google, or Azure using tools like Terraform and Jenkins
3 years of experience with these languages: Java or Kotlin, Ruby or Python, NodeJS or TypeScript
3 years of experience with Html, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON
3 years of experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and a NoSQL DB
1 year of experience with Wordpress
Experience developing services from the design stage through production deployment
Experience working with highly available production services at scale with at least 10,000 active users

Pay Range
Salary: $168,709 - $180,900
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives. Meredith Operations Corporation has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 in Seattle, Washington.
The position duties are as follows: Responsible for overseeing a technical domain, which may encompass one or more teams. Daily duties include:
- Devise and advocate a vision for the architecture and core functionality of these technical domain(s) and serve as the technical POC.
- Serve as a primary architect, supporting and working on the foundational technologies and architecture the teams covered by their domain depend on.
- Collaborate with peer technology leads to establish and improve infrastructure, best practices, and development processes.
- Work with product owners to help them understand technical complexity/feasibility of desired features, and work to help come up with technically acceptable solutions.
- Manage 1-2 junior developers (Developer Level 1). Keep the team motivated, aware of business goals, and focused on the appropriately prioritized goals.
- Participate in the developer hiring process.
