Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer who excels in solving complex problems collaboratively. If you take ownership of your work, think strategically, and have a proven track record of implementing solutions while adapting to constraints and minimizing risks, we want to hear from you. Strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work in a dynamic environment are essential. You will collaborate with our Engineering Team, Product Managers, and Designers to develop innovative experiences for our internal stakeholders, mainly focusing on creating a custom lab software solution for a high-throughput lab.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable services that support the various activities of high-throughput lab

Create front-end, and back-end applications, focusing on data pipelines and analytics

Create CI/CD pipelines using GitLab

Create unit tests to ensure the quality of the code

Collaborate with end-users and product managers to iterate on requirements and deliverables

Optimize architecture and infrastructure for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness on AWS cloud platform

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability

Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
-
5+ years of experience in developing software application
-
Experience in programming languages like Python and front-end technologies like React
-
Relational Database and SQL Programming, prefer MySQL or PostgreSQL
-
Proficiency in AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, DynamoDb, S3, Lambda, Glue
-
Proficiency in infrastructure as code
-
Proficiency in messaging frameworks such as Kafka
-
Quality Assurance Mindset
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
Nice to have

Experience building a custom LIMS/LES system
-
Located in Austin to be able to see the software in action in the lab and get live user feedback
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
