Job Description Summary:

PayPal’s Send Money web team is looking for a Full-stack JavaScript engineer. The perfect candidate will demonstrate thought leadership, great execution skills and a passion for delivering superior user experiences.

You'll be joining a team that delivers at high frequency by using and creating the latest technologies. We were the first PayPal team to replace Java with Node.js in 2012, and Node.js is currently in use by almost all web applications at PayPal. We have also been at the forefront in React and Redux adoption, including first production use.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Write web application code following best practices of accessibility, internationalization, test driven development
  • Partner closely with design/product to craft great product experiences
  • Deliver code in an Agile DevOps environment
  • Lead code reviews to drive teams to the highest standards for Node.js apps and web apps
  • Provide architectural leadership in product development team
  • Drive teams to follow clean code principles 
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development

    Required Skills:
  • Production Node.js application development experience
  • Production JavaScript application design and testing experience
  • Solid experience building applications on top of RESTful APIs
  • Solid knowledge of frameworks such as React and Redux (preferred) 
  • Experience with web frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, LESS, Bootstrap
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, design pattern and componentization approaches
  • Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong desire to learn, push yourself and co-workers to excel, and share knowledge with others
