Sinclair has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our enterprise solutions organization!
Our Unified Ad Sales (UAS) team is pushing the envelope on broadcast media sales and fulfillment, looking to set a new standard across the industry. The team is growing, and we are seeking a Software Engineer to join the team and help deliver on our vision of a streamlined, user-friendly and unified ad sales experience for our sales staff and our customers.
As part of the UAS team, you will be hands-on building integrations and custom applications from inception to launch and everything in between. A successful candidate will have a strong sense of teamwork, personal integrity, and accountability. Possessing the ability to understand complex business processes and requirements, translating them into secure, robust, and reliable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Requirements analysis, technical design, and development efforts for software solutions. Solving complex business problems while leveraging modern technologies and enterprise integration toolsets (Boomi).
- Work closely with product management to execute project roadmaps.
- Partner with architecture, quality engineering and fellow engineers to ensure solutions are highly performant, easily supportable, and extensible.
- Embody agile principles through early and continuous delivery of value as a team with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
Technical Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years as a software engineer developing modern, robust solutions in an enterprise environment.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining robust APIs for application integration across many systems.
- Working knowledge of full stack technologies such as .NET (C#), SQL, HTML/CSS/JS, NodeJS, etc.
- Familiarity with SOLID design principles and passionate about following development best practices.
- Transform app designs into front-end code with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript using responsive UI frameworks as needed.
- Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations
- Writing Unit Tests or implementing automated tests in partnership with the quality engineering team.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Exposure to Azure DevOps, and experience using Git Source Control.
- Exposure to Continuous Integration and automated Deployments.
- Experience with Cloud and Software-as-a-Service paradigm and enabling technologies
- Experience with enterprise integration middleware toolsets a plus. Boomi preferred.
Non-Technical Experience
- Ability to articulate technical concepts and considerations to audiences from developers to executives
- Complete understanding of the software development life cycle, and experience developing to timelines
- Excellent analytical and procedural thinking skills
- Quick to embrace new technologies and able to self-teach
Technologies
- Microsoft .NET C# experience
- Familiarity with Azure
- API Development, SOAP/REST and HTTP
- Database skills including SQL, data modeling, and databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle)
- Experience with the Dell Boomi integration platform a huge plus
