Software Engineer

Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group has partnered with an established financial services organization to find a Software Engineer. As the Software Engineer you will be responsible for creating intuitive and high-performance web applications. This role will require design skills, front-end development and back-end integration with a focus on building scalable solutions and upgrading application technology. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of Web UI development experience and a strong proficiency in Next.js, React, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Responsibilities: • Design and develop modern, responsive, and accessible UIs using Next.js, React.js, CSS, and Styled Components. • Optimize performance using SSR, ISR, and API routes while ensuring scalability and security in an AWS cloud environment (S3, Lambda, CloudFront, Cognito, etc.). • Collaborate cross-functionally with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences. • Translate designs into code by converting wireframes and prototypes into interactive, maintainable web applications, modernizing legacy systems as needed. • Maintain consistency by building reusable components, following accessibility standards (WCAG), and staying current with front-end and AWS best practices. Qualifications/Background Profile: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience. • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience as a Web UI Developer or similar role. • Experience working within an Agile Development Framework. • Strong proficiency in Next.js and React.js (including hooks, context API, and component-based architecture). • Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript. • Experience with AWS services, including S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, and Cognito. • Strong UI/UX design skills, with experience using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. • Experience with responsive design using frameworks like Bootstrap, Material UI. • Familiarity with Git/GitHub and Agile development workflows. • Basic understanding of CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline). • Knowledge of authentication and security best practices in front-end development. • Experience working in Unix-based environment. • Experience with database technologies (Relational, NoSQL) and experience with using database management systems in general. • Understanding of server-side rendering, n-tier architecture, Single-page App Model, microservices architecture, and cloud computing (AWS). - This job is Hybrid Remote.
