About the role:

We are seeking a Platform Engineer with a specialization in billing infrastructure to join our Engineering team. Your focus will be on architecting and implementing core components of our distributed systems infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability for billing-related services. This is a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of our billing platform and contribute to transforming the way we handle subscriptions, invoicing, payments, and internal features supporting customer success, finance, and billing operations.

What you will do:

• Architect and implement core components of our distributed billing infrastructure, focusing on service APIs and usage infrastructure for product teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions for scalability, fault tolerance, and accurate invoicing.
• Optimize system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies in billing processes.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of tools for monitoring, logging, and debugging billing-related services.

About you:

• Possess at least 6+ years of experience in designing and implementing distributed systems, with a strong focus on billing infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and distributed computing concepts, particularly as they relate to billing operations.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $192,000.00 to $240,000.00.  This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be  adjusted based on employee location.  The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
