The TikTok LIVE - Foundation - Ecosystem Engineering team is responsible for ensuring the quality of global live streaming content. Together with data scientists, governance strategy manager, local operations, and the Trust & Safety Algorithm team, we aim to build robust, and high performance systems providing reliable machine-based and efficient human-based moderation solutions, flexible governance strategy management platforms, and comprehensive governance tools to ensure the high quality live content brings enjoyment to our customers worldwide.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with product managers, data scientists, UI designers, and the engineering team to iterate on data driven product initiatives.
- Improve system design and architecture to ensure service reliability, performance, scalability, and extensibility.
- Learn and understand the principles of TikTok products and help build end-to-end solutions.
- Learn and grow from working with great colleagues and taking on challenges.
- Help our team grow from your expertise, experience, and perspectives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, proficient in at least one coding language, including but not limited to Go, Java, Python, C++.
- Good grasp of software engineering and how to build a system in a scalable and extensive manner.
- Willing to accept challenges and solve complex problems.
- Strong learning capabilities and good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or related major.
- Understanding concurrency, database, and message queue is a plus.
- Experience in content moderation systems is a plus.
- Experience in building large scale systems is a plus.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $112000 - $177000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
