Job Summary Disney’s Android team is seeking a Software Engineer who is excited to build apps enjoyed by millions around the world. You will be building scalable, elegant solutions for the Disney+ Android application across a wide array of devices including phones, tablets, and TVs. Our highly collaborative group works in tandem with many cross-functional teams. We value pristine communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a bias for action. We are incredibly invested in maintaining high code quality standards with unit tests, automated tests, modern libraries, and a Kotlin codebase. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role As Software Engineer working at Disney, you have some Android experience, and you are ready for more. The learning curve of contributing to a large project with a huge impact excites you, and your resilience will help you grow into a strong developer. You are eager to be coached and are receptive to feedback. You are equally comfortable chiming in on meetings and code reviews, giving a valuable perspective from an Software Engineer’s lens. Basic Qualifications • Quality communication skills who can collaborate well across teams • Comfortable with Git basics • Coachable and receptive to constructive feedback Preferred Qualifications • 1+ years of production experience with the Android SDK • Experience using common Android libraries • Experience with unit testing • Familiar with architectural patterns (MVI/MVVM or equivalent) • Some experience with Reactive Programming or Dependency Injection • Experience with Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Dependency Injection, Gradle, Databases, Reactive paradigms, coroutines Required Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $95,300-$127,800. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
