Software Engineer II

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:
We are searching for a Software Engineer with back-end interest and expertise who is passionate about changing the way millions of people save energy. You'll work within the Engineering Department to build and improve our applications (especially our API layers and data processing) to deliver flexible and creative solutions to our utility partners and end users. You'll be a part of developing a robust architecture and delivering on larger feature initiatives that offer a compelling experience for our customers.

What you bring to Uplight:

• 2-3 years of professional software engineering experience

• 2+ years experience with Python

• 1+ years building maintainable integration and unit tests
• 1+ years building and documenting scalable backend solutions
• Basic knowledge of a Microservice Architecture
• Basic knowledge of AWS/GCP
• Ability to collaborate via pair programming, peer review, brainstorming, etc.

• Experience facilitating collaboration cross-functionally with Design and Product teams
• Experience with cloud infrastructure automation such as terraform, cloudformation or similar through CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with containerized deployment using Docker
• Configuration management experience with Terraform

Bonus points:

• Automation of multi-step repetitive tasks
• Close familiarity with software engineering tools, software development methodology, and release processes
• Experience with Agile Methodologies

Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
