Software Engineer I/II

Career Opportunity K&C is seeking a highly talented Software Engineer. The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of software engineering best practices; a strong background in math or a physical science; and have programming experience with C/C++ or any other language that is comparable. A successful candidate must be able to work, think, and innovate independently. As Software Engineer at K&C, you will work to implement state of the art solutions which often relate to physical simulations, protective design, or structural engineering. Towards this, the engineer could operate on varying levels of tech stacks ranging from: C++/Fortran for numerical codes; C#/Python for scripting or AI/ML work; and graphical frameworks such as Unity and Qt for user facing applications. The engineer is not expected to have expertise in any one of these areas but must have the foundational knowledge necessary to operate in this space (linear algebra, computational geometry, basic physics). To qualify for this position, you must… · Be a US Citizen. · Hold a BS, MS, or PhD in a quantitative science (Computer Science, Math, Physics, etc). · Be comfortable working with math and/or physics in a software setting. · Enjoy developing novel software solutions to complex research problems. · Have experience with compiled languages (C, C++, C#, Fortran, etc). · Possess a strong technical presentation and writing background.
