As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes & assists in the implementation of site reliability principles and practices within your team.
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications. Collaborate with senior engineers to create and maintain observability and reliability designs for systems. Support the development of high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and provides support to other engineers and seek advice on technical and business-related issues.
- Proactively participates in regular resiliency testing, including wargames, failover exercises, and chaos experiments, to ensure system stability.
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies. Assist in debugging and evolving critical components of applications and platforms.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Basic understanding of site reliability culture and principles, with a willingness to learn and implement SRE practices.
- Familiarity with observability tools and concepts such as monitoring, alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and microservice-based design principles.
- Basic knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with a desire to deepen expertise in one or more technical disciplines.
- Ability to assist in toil reduction and automation solutions using programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot defects found during testing.
- Good communication skills with a willingness to learn from and collaborate with others.

- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
