Staples is focused on our customer and our community. As a Software Engineer III forStaples, you will be passionate about building meaningful and rich experiences for the web. The ideal candidate is a modern JavaScript expert, with an understanding of tools, libraries, JavaScript, CSS and ReactJS. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable building from scratch but also knows when to apply off-the-shelf solutions for the problem. We also value people who are passionate about user friendly design and have an eye for creating delightful experiences.

Key Deliverable/main area of focus:

  • Proven experience delivering software applications/features from inception to shipping within a cross-functional team environment
  • Implement rich, interactive data visualizations using modern JavaScript and software development techniques.
  • Collaborate with designers and other UI engineers across the company to contribute to the community and stay up to date on the company's UI standard methodologies.
  • Mentor other engineers on the team and beyond and feel passionate about improving software by constant iteration with your team.
  • Be responsible for your deliverables from inception to operation and maintenance, including participating in team on-call rotations and support activities.

Additional Information:

Essential skills and experience:

  • 4-5+ years of experience working with React.js & Typescript
  • Experience with React, Redux, and Webpack Write re-usable UI components based on design patterns and workflows
  • Ability to use & integrate React/Redux 3rd party dependencies/middleware/components
  • Experience configuring and using front end build tools and packages managers such as npm, gulp
  • Experience with TDD using frameworks such as Jest, Jasmine or Mocha.
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies including React, Git, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Experience interfacing with REST APIs and/or API Gateways

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience working in Cloud technologies is Azure or AWS
  • Agility to adapt to new environments, technologies, and processes quickly
