Software Engineer - OS Development
Location: FullyOnsite β Redmond, WA or Sunnyvale, CA (5 days onsite, may transition to 4 days)
Duration:12 Months
Pay Rate:$100/hr W2
We are looking forOS developerswith strong design and build skills, experience in multiple levels of the OS stack from drivers to frameworks and experience building embedded devices. A successful candidate in this role is self-driven, creative and doesnβt mind delving into different areas of the stack. This person will take initiative and should be willing to execute consistently in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
β’ Design and implement components at all layers of the system, from drivers to frameworks.
β’ Debug complex, system-level, multi-component issues spanning kernel to application.
β’ Profile and optimize performance across the entire software stack.
β’ Bring up new devices, debug, and perform performance tuning.
β’ Integrate software components from multiple partner teams into a unified product codebase.
Must-Have Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
β’ 2+ years of experience with AOSP
β’ Experience working on systems software in a large-scale C/C++ code base
β’ Experience with operating systems internals and frameworks services
β’ Experience with software development processes including: source control, unit tests, bug tracking, and design documentation

Nice-to-Have Skills:
β’ Experience shipping high-quality consumer products.
β’ Proficiency with modern C/C++ standards, libraries, best practices, and Java.
β’ Experience with Android SDK, NDK, JNI, and IPC mechanisms.
β’ Hands-on with device bring-up and Linux kernel customization.
Candidate Fit:
β’ Able to work independently without constant direction after ramp-up.
β’ Strong end-to-end system thinking.
β’ Previousconsumer electronics product experience.
Interview Process:
β’ Prescreen + 2 technical interviews.
β’ Coding round (~45 mins) and additional technical assessments.
