Software Engineer (PostgreSQL Contributor)

Location: Remote from Europe or US east coast.

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 plus stock options (it’s a range because we use a formula to determine exact pay based on location and level)

Modern applications are complex. We are building a Serverless Postgres Platform that augments PostgreSQL with the functionality modern applications need to evolve and scale.

In every feature we build, we optimize for developer experience that will ultimately reduce our customers time to market or dramatically simplify hard architectural problems at scale. Our application is highly intuitive and is great for data collaboration with the entire team.

At Xata, we are rethinking what a database is responsible for and redefining the status quo.

What you’ll be doing: 

• Contribute fixes, code improvements and features to the Postgres main repository in C
• Contribute fixes, code improvements and features to the Postgres adjacent tools.
• Be part of the PostgreSQL development community and represent Xata in this community.
• Occasionally contribute to the Xata products in Go
• Write documentation and blog posts about your contributions

About you:

• You have contributed to the postgres core, maybe even listed on the contributors page.
• You have created pg extensions
• You have experience working in open source
• You’re experienced in C/C++, rust or Go
• You’re a speaker at conferences and advocate for Postgres
