Software Engineering Manager- Platform

The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our platform team. Someone who is a thoughtful leader who supports their teams, encourages growth, thrives on ownership, and drives accountability through results. We also desire those who can balance rapid development with high product quality, are innovative and comfortable with ambiguity, and passionate about building scalable and robust systems.

About You:

• At least 3 years of experience managing software development teams.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in software development with progressive growth.
• Experience hiring, developing and managing engineering talent.
• Experience with owning and maintaining high-volume, high-availability production environments.
• Capable of deep troubleshooting and discovering root causes of problems.
• Experience creating and documenting system design and architecture.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to work effectively within and across departments.
• Experience working within a DevOps environment.
• Excellent organization skills - ability to work effectively and independently prioritize tasks.
• Experience working with .Net (C#) or similar frameworks.
• Cooperative, communicative, humble, resourceful, accountable

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a global team of software developers. Set goals, assign tasks, and review performance.
• Own and drive the implementation of complex computer systems. Manage the support and maintenance of systems after release.
• Work cooperatively with cross-functional teams of project managers, testers, and customer representatives within a system development life cycle.
• Mentor software engineers on software programming and design best practices. Drive programming excellence and discipline, including the production of high-quality and maintainable code.
• Constantly improve the development processes, tools and methodologies used by developers.
• Promote teamwork and problem resolution. Foster an environment of open discussion, debate, and questioning while always maintaining professionalism and respect for others.
• Identify and recommend new technology directions and platforms.
