We seek a part-time Software QA Analyst contractor with extensive experience with QA processes, challenges, and solutions in the Americas region.
Requirements and Summary- Type of contract: Part-time contract.
- Project duration: 12 months.
- Project Start Date: Immediately.
- Location: Anywhere in the Americas region and able to support the EDT zone.
- Type of testing: Functional (exploratory, smoke, and regression testing) frontend & backend testing - inclusive of API testing and integration testing.
- Hours: 20 hours per week / four hours a day from Monday to Friday (10.00 AM - 02.00 PM EST).
- Must have devices: MacBook or Windows Laptop and/or an Android or iPhone Mobile.
- Pay is starting at $16 USD/hr.
- Candidates with full-time job commitments (8 hours per day) are not be eligible to apply for this role.
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Software Tester or similar role, with a strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Xray, or other similar.
- Proficient in identifying and documenting software bugs and issues.
- Knowledge and experience with defect tracking tools such as BugZilla, Jira, or other similar.
- Ability to solve basic technical tasks required during testing - such as test data generation, log capturing and basic analysis, working with browser developer tools, network logs analyzers, etc.
- Experience with frontend & backend testing - inclusive of API testing and integration testing, and working in Agile Scrum teams.
- Good knowledge of SDLC, good understanding of Automation utilization in testing delivery.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and strong presentation skills.
- Passion, curiosity, and focused interest in the field of software testing.
- Good team player, socially open-minded, empathetic, and considerate of cultural differences
- Degree qualified in computer science or related subject.
- ISTQB, BBST, or similar qualification or working towards.
- Experience in mortgage, investment, and/or financial domain.
- Proficiency in the Portuguese language.
- Design and execute smoke, scripted, and exploratory test cases on mobile, web, and desktop platforms.
- Conduct functional, localization, regression, or payment testing to ensure software applications meet quality standards.
- Report and reproduce issues found during testing.
- Document and report test results, including bugs and potential risks.
- Analyze test results, issues, logs, and other relevant data to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas for improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Clearly and proactively communicate test progress, issues, and risks to project stakeholders. Generate reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Design and execute API tests in tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
- Collaborate with the quality engineering team to identify suitable tests for automation, reducing manual effort and improving test coverage. Assist in the execution of automated test suites.
- Create and maintain scripted and exploratory test cases and test suites that align with business priorities, project requirements, user expectations, and industry-recommended approaches.
- Design and optimize appropriate test data.
- Ensure continuous relevance of the test library by refactoring, updating, and deprecating tests.
- Develop a deep understanding of the system under test.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies and tools.
