Software Test Engineer

We are seeking a high-performing, motivated Software Test Engineer to join our team! Responsibilities include planning and implementation of tests that prove the functional and non-functional requirements of the system. Test Engineers will conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers fits its purpose and is of high quality. Individuals must have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and have a hands-on approach to tasking. This employee will lead tasks and may have supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications • Team player in an agile, fast-paced environment • Critical thinker and strong problem-solving skills • Deep understanding of QA • Familiarity on the uses and methods of testing • Fearless - not afraid to suggest or back big ideas however disruptive they may be • Strong time-management skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Duties & Responsibilities • Strong knowledge in testing skills (design test plan and test strategy, writing test cases, executing test cases, opening bugs, verifying bugs) • Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software • Develops and automates tests for continuous software validation and process improvement • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams of developers and validation engineers • Demonstrates that the software meets major architectural requirements • Proves scalability and performance of a software • Ensures the quality of the system as a whole • Detect bug issues, prepares and files defect and test progress reports – strong technical writing Education Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of education Competencies & Abilities • 2+ years of experience in • Software Testing and quality control or similar role • A wide range of Open Source Software exposure • Scripting and Test automation strategies • Mobile applications and GIS location-based services • Knowledge of software build and deployment processes, procedures and tools. (JIRA, SPIRA, Jenkins etc.) • Linux, Hadoop and SQL Relational Database skills a plus Additional information about PSG Global can be found at www.psgglobal.net.
