A Sourcing Specialist job in Port Neches, TX is currently accepting applications. This is a contract position with our key chemical client. In this role, you will purchase materials and services required for Petro-Chemical plant operations, consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships. Negotiate service agreements and execute purchase order packages. To be considered for this role, you will have an A.S. Degree, along with 5+ years of related purchasing experience.

Sourcing Specialist Job Responsibilities:

* Purchase materials and services required for plant operations, consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.

* Expedite documentation and deliveries of orders to maintain on-time delivery requirements.

* Effectively use SAP to create and maintain purchase orders in a timely manner.

* Effectively interact / communicate with manufacturing, engineering, project management and suppliers regarding order status.

* Document and advise requisitioner of critical changes in orders status.

* Build, develop and manage professional relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders yielding effective partnerships.

* Perform other purchasing duties including bid tab creation, maintain PO / Proposal logs and folders, and supplier setup.

* Create and defend category strategies and decisions with sound analytics. Collaborate with key analytical support functions; synthesize results.

Desired Skills and Experience:

* Experience using the Purchasing functions in SAP or equivalent business system.

* Good communication skills and basic math skills in order to effectively interact with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.

* Demonstrate an ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

* Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and be able to create and interpret key reports.

* Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external stakeholders.

* Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

* Ability to work with and influence peers and management.

* Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).

Sourcing Specialist Job Requirements:

* Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.

* 5 to 10 years purchasing experience in a related field.

* A high degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

* Must have experience purchasing or managing MRO commodities in a manufacturing / operations organization.
