Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at DAKOTA'S STEAKHOUSE. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and presentation. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, menu planning, and inventory management while fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
Duties
β’ Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
β’ Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
β’ Oversee food production processes to maintain quality and consistency.
β’ Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
β’ Collaborate in menu planning, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
β’ Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
β’ Participate in catering events and banquets as required.
β’ Support team management efforts by fostering a collaborative atmosphere among kitchen staff.
β’ Handle shift management responsibilities to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
β’ Provide leadership in the absence of the Executive Chef, making decisions regarding food service management.
Qualifications
β’ Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within fine dining or high-volume establishments.
β’ Strong background in food production, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
β’ Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and food handling practices.
β’ Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team.
β’ Familiarity with catering services and banquet experience is highly desirable.
β’ Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the hospitality industry.
β’ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
β’ Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
