Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous / Assistant Chef to join our esteemed team at College Cuisine. This role is perfect for a culinary professional with a proven track record in kitchen operations, a dedication to excellence, and a collaborative spirit. The Sous / Assistant Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure outstanding food quality, maintain rigorous sanitation standards, and drive efficient kitchen operations in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Organize and stock kitchen stations with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
• Perform precise food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and crafting sauces, adhering to established recipes.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to prepare and present dishes, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery.
• Uphold stringent health, safety, and hygiene standards across all kitchen and dining areas.
• Clean and sanitize tables, countertops, and food service areas with soap and water after each meal.
• Ensure daily mopping of the dining room and kitchenette floors following service completion.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens and grills, with precision and care.
• Master all recipes to seamlessly step into the Executive Chef’s role when needed.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience as an Assistant Chef or in a comparable role (minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and industry best practices.
• Exceptional accuracy and efficiency in executing tasks, even in high-pressure environments.
• Outstanding communication skills and a professional, positive demeanor.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
