Special Education Teacher - Elementary

Location: Great Hearts Archway Classical Academy Chandler, 1951 N Alma School Rd, Chandler, AZ 85224 JOB DESCRIPTION The Exceptional Student Services (Special Education) Teacher will: • Plan and provide specially designed instruction to students receiving special education and related services. • Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff in the implementation of accommodations and modifications • Draft and maintain IEPs, Prior Written Notices, and potentially evaluation paperwork, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines • Plan and facilitate meetings throughout the special education process • Communicate and collaborate with parents, staff, and administrative staff regarding student planning and progress. • Manage the transition of new enrollees eligible for special education and related services. Education/Certification: • Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree • Valid Arizona certification in Special Education (mild to moderate, cross-categorical, learning disability, or intern/alternative) • A current Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card Experience: • 1 year of successful teaching experience (preferably in a K-12 school setting) • 1 year of successful Special Education teaching experience (preferred) • The ideal candidate has previous experience in Special Education.
