As an early member of the team, you will be one of the primary owners and architects of our relationships with wholesale brokers, retail agents, and small businesses. You will drive a variety of strategic initiatives that will unlock new opportunities for growth and profitability. This will require close collaboration with the underwriting, data, and engineering teams, partners, clients, and other key stakeholders in order to scale the company. 

YOU WILL

  • Design and execute the launch plan for new insurance products in collaboration with the insurance, product, and data teams
  • Drive intricate and time-critical projects by comprehending context and developing a logical framework that guides to a prioritized approach for resolution
  • Synthesize data to identify KPIs and trends that translate into actionable insights
  • Implement advanced analytics / modeling (e.g., bottoms-up operating models, pricing)
  • Drive market research and assessments
  • Help diligence, negotiate, and implement transactions (e. g., vendors, partners)
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate results and insights with cross-functional teams

YOU HAVE

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and project management experience combined with impeccable business judgment
  • Experience implementing strategic and operational initiatives
  • Experience developing intricate logical models in spreadsheets and using presentation software to facilitate communication with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent interactive and communication experience to formulate and articulate contractual, technical, financial, and value points with partners and internal stakeholders
  • Self-directed and self-motivated; excellent communicator and collaborator

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:

  • Tanner Hackett, CEO & Founder: Having founded two other major startups, including Button and Lazada, Tanner now spends his time focused on mental health through his philanthropy, Openminded.org, in addition to reading, surfing, yoga, and enjoying the outdoors. 
  • Chris Shafer, Special Projects: Chris is a published scientific author, having studied the neural correlates of gratitude at the lauded Brain and Creativity Institute. He has since helped to launch numerous businesses in which he held a variety of critical roles from product management to business operations to strategic partnerships. Chris received his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California.
  • Mike Levins, Head of Insurance: Mike previously was the Head of Broker Relations and US MGA Operations at Hiscox. Mike oversaw the Midwest region with ~20 underwriters offering 13 different product lines, the primary lines being management liability, professional liability, and cyber/technology. His extensive insurance career has afforded Mike strong relationships across hundreds of retail and wholesale brokers. Mike received his BS from Marquette University and MBA from Benedictine University.
