Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) has an opening for Specialist in the ES division. For a Global Product Line product qualification

We are looking for a specialist engineer to lead circuit breaker qualification per regional standards (UL, IEC & others), design test plan & lead internal/external testing to prove & qualify product from durability, reliability perspective. The person needs to be versatile, technically competent with the distinction of executing prestigious projects of large magnitude within strict time schedule. This position will be based in Pune, India.

Primary responsibility is for leading Air Circuit Breaker qualification (pre & post development)- Global Product Line growth programs for end-to-end developments and successful launch in the global markets.
Further, the specialist is expected to:-

• Work closely with global cross functional teams, PLMs and engineering team to drive product developmental qualification & final certification.
• Drive cross-functional teams (engineering, internal test lab, external labs, product marketing for requirements and supply chain) to drive accountability and performance established for successful launch of product
• Influence and align business expectations with key stakeholders in the areas of scope, benefit, cost, assumptions, risks/opportunities, key milestones, and alternate implementation scenarios. Fully understand and articulate related work content.
• Leverage DFx processes, tools, systems, and performance measures to provide an operational cadence, agility and transparency during project execution.
• Establish and execute effective internal and external stakeholder communication strategies that address customer, internal leadership, and core team needs for the duration of a project.
• Effectively tailor messaging and lead discussions related to product qualification with multiple levels of leadership to enable robust decision making and risk mitigation.
• Rich experience in electrical systems, power distribution, code-and-standards is a must. Ability to deal with unknown/ambiguity, de-risking product development through incremental testing, reliability growth development are added skills required.

Job Responsibility :

• Responsible for the successful execution of product quaification (NPI, VA/VE, & STP) projects and programs that deliver on business case cost and benefit commitments.
• Defining requirements aligned to codes-and-standards across APAC, EMEA, Amricas (including Latin America & Canada). Developing product qualification plan with PMO and place controls such as determining KPI measures, trend analysis, test records with internal & external labs and final qualification with standards
• Capturing business needs & validating solution-based deliverables to stakeholders in programs, with perseverance and patience
• Managing global programs with varying levels of complexity through Eaton Global EBS Process, proactively identifying and mitigating potential crises/ risks; developing requirements, managing change control, designing tests and tracking schedules while ensuring project activities aligned with business objectives & best practices
• Analyzing all product performance and ensure achievement of all objectives within required deadlines and monitoring all system functionality
• Identifying improvement areas and implementing adequate measures to improve efficiency
• Leading DFX deployment through product qualification - including leveraging digital prototyping, reliability growth models, DAP & FMEA.
• Agile work methods and cross team collaboration with Program Manager, Engineerig specialists, Test Lab leads, external labs, third party agencies and suppply chain
• Maintaining periodic updates on technologies as part of Product Strategy & Technology Roadmap; ensuring alignment & coordinating implementation of product updates & regulations
• Representing work in clear & concise manner to highlight risks with de-risking plans in program reviews - with global stakeholders
• Good communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer
• Demonstrated leadership style that is consistent with Eaton expectations of leaders (ethical, passionate, accountable, efficient, transparent, learner). Capable of leading change in a cross-functional environment that requires cross-region, site, and/or global collaboration and span.

• B.E. / B Tech / M Tech.
• 15 Years of experience.
• Electrical circuit protection, Product qualification, Related codes & standars with in-depth understanding, Test plan development, Reliability Growth.
• Project Planning, Scoping, Stage GATE product development process, Risk Management, Cross-functional working
• Previous experience in leading projects (NPI, NTI, VAVE) pertaining to electrical circuit protection from concept to launch from a product qualification perspective.
• Must have a customer focused mindset where the customer perspective is at the forefront of any change, risk, or problem resolution strategy.
• Fully Proficient Six-Sigma methods for product development
• Able to apply Digital tools, automation for driving efficiency in day to day execution.
