Job Description

Looking for a SQL Server DBA with 3-5 years of experience in SQL Server database administration and Azure database administration.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Fulfil DBA daily activities:
  1. Backups/Restore, User Access Management (creating users, privileges, roles, quotas, table, indexes etc.), space management, monitoring (alert log, memory, disk I/O, CPU, database network connectivity)
  2. Work closely with developers, provide DBA support for multiple applications in development, Test, QA, UAT and production environments. The individual will also be required to work on scripting tools like PowerShell at an application level
  3. Work on Application and DB deployments to all environments
  4. Maintain SQL DB’s (On Prem and Azure), Azure DW and Reporting (SSRS/Power BI)

Primary Skills required:

1. Installing SQL server (DB, Integration Services, Report Services, Analysis Services, Data Tools, On Prem & Cloud) and client software, creating, upgrading and patching databases in different environments. Experience in Upgrade and Migration of SQL Server to higher version (SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2016 or higher)
2. Working with the Development teams to fix the problems in Applications.
3. Performance Tuning of database which includes SQL optimization.
4. Proficiency in T-SQL, includes, creating database objects like tables, views, indexes, constraints, functions, procedures, triggers, partitioned tables, etc. Planning, scheduling and taking backups. Hands on experience in database backups and Recovery strategies.
5. Managing Clustered environments, load balancing, scripting using PowerShell
6. Azure database and Power BI administration
7. Database and Azure AD user, service accounts and role management 

Desired Secondary Skills:

1. Executing deployments to different environments and automating them
2. Data warehouse/ETL and BI knowledge
3. PROD maintenance experience

Qualifications

B.E./ME (CS/EE) or equivalent higher-level degree

Certifications:

1. SQL Server 2016 or higher versions Database Administrator Certified Professional
2. Azure Database Administrator Associate
