The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the global accounting team based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Austin. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of YETI’s North America revenue. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of YETI’s financial statements and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Responsibilities:
• Perform month-end close responsibilities (journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, etc.) including accounting for significant estimates (e.g. sales returns reserve, bad debt allowance, revenue cut-off)
• Partner cross-functionally with sales, FP&A, accounts receivable and credit & collections to ensure the order to cash processes are working effectively and efficiently
• Provide insight to business teams and FP&A regarding the accounting impacts of business decisions
• Apply ASC 606 guidance to new revenue streams and changes to existing contracts and clearly document assessment & conclusions
• Responsible for understanding agreed upon discounts provided to customers and ensuring discounts are properly reported in financial statements
• Perform and document internal controls over revenue recognition process and proactively partner with Internal Audit and external auditors on control testing & substantive audit procedures
• Drive process improvements that allow processes to scale with the growth of the company
• Lead and support business initiatives and finance projects, including performing user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Perform ad-hoc reporting & analysis on sales and gross margin
Qualifications and Attributes:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years of public accounting preferred
• CPA designation strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls required
• Experience with SAP/BPC preferred. Major ERP experience required.
• Passion for accuracy, details and organization required

• Able to drive process improvements that increase the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables
• Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to break down problems into critical components and influence others to drive actionable solutions
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
