Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in San Diego, California. As a key contributor to our accounting and financial operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and process efficiency. This is a Contract position that offers the opportunity to work closely with various teams and drive improvements in accounting practices. Responsibilities: • Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Prepare and manage complex journal entries and maintain detailed accounting records. • Act as a backup for asset invoicing processes, including tagging, reconciliation, and month-end reporting. • Oversee expense reimbursement reconciliation, ensuring proper coding and addressing employee inquiries. • Serve as a backup for payroll preparation and reconciliation when needed. • Provide support for accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as required. • Handle tax compliance tasks, including sales and use tax reporting, ensuring adherence to state and local regulations. • Identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions. • Participate in audits, providing support to finance and accounting teams. • Step in as deputy during the Accounting Manager’s absence and take on additional projects as assigned. • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, such as accountant or assistant controller. • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Proficiency in accounting systems, with experience in ERP systems preferred, and familiarity with Microsoft Office. • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and identify solutions. • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, though minimal. • Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
