Sr. Cost Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Cost Accountant to join our client's team in Santa Clara, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial decision-making and improve cost efficiency within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cost accounting processes and a strong background in manufacturing cost analysis. Responsibilities: • Maintain and update cost accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Develop precise cost estimates for new products and changes to existing products to support pricing strategies. • Perform cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the financial viability of projects and initiatives. • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage material costs and optimize supplier relationships. • Ensure accurate reporting of inventory, cost of goods sold, and other key financial data on a monthly and quarterly basis. • Partner with the Operations team to improve inventory management and support product planning efforts. • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. • Prepare detailed cost reports and ensure their alignment with established accounting standards. • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records • Proven experience in cost accounting, with a focus on manufacturing and standard cost practices. • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in cost analysis techniques. • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and related cost structures. • Proficiency in preparing and analyzing detailed financial reports. • Knowledge of inventory management and cost control principles. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
