Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Equipment and Automation Engineer to help scale our factory and equipment. The job involves major freedom to explore different approaches and iterate quickly, while working on a very high performing team. This position's internal job code is Senior Equipment and Automation Engineer. We are currently hiring for Level 3. Responsibilities • Development, testing, qualification of new production equipment to make precision cast components • Ownership over equipment and process selection, including throughput & cost modelling, technical assessments, and concept design • Working with production, finance, facilities, and leadership to coordinate standup of totally new processes from concept to high volume production. • Line support - debugging issues when equipment is down • Developing process - experimenting with different machine parameters to improve throughput, yield, capability, and reliability Minimum Qualifications • 5 years minimum of professional experience as a manufacturing engineer, process engineer, mechanical engineer, or similar • Has been responsible for the Design, Setup, and Commissioning of Complex manufacturing equipment in a production environment • Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering, or similar, or evidence of exceptional ability • Familiarity with common industrial hardware and controls - fittings, connectors, microcontrollers, motion control • Excellent design skills • Experience working with vendors and getting designs manufactured Preferred Skills/Experience • Experience with precision casting, heat treatment, ceramics manufacturing, slurry processing • Experience in AS9100 Aerospace manufacturing • Experience in high volume manufacturing • Experience with SLA printing • Worked for a high-growth tech company / start-up Additional Requirements • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed • Must be able to establish procedures for providing 24/7 on-call support for critical business activities and emergency situations Summary Pay Range Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline.
