Magna Lighting - Autosystems of America is looking for Molding Process Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines to mold thermoplastic parts.
• Observe continuous operation of injection molding machines to ensure that parts meet specifications and to detect any machine malfunctions or product defects, making adjustments as necessary.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and completing first-off - last off documents.
• Ensure all auxiliary equipment is set to the correct settings per the baselines.
• Maintain best operating parameters (baselines) for tool and make any adjustments required to cycle the tool automatically. Troubleshooting and understanding the machine functions/setting issues.
• Monitor tool cleanliness
• Perform maintenance work such as cleaning and oiling machines.
• Read specifications, blueprints, work orders to determine setups and settings required to mold plastic materials, as well as to plan production sequences.
• Train/Mentor entry level process Techs and process Techs.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Completion of Associates or bachelor's degree preferred (2- or 4-year Mechanical degree). Experience can be substituted for education and vice versa
• 3 -5 years' experience as a Process Tech required
• Ability to learn and comprehend basic tool construction.
• Self-motivated, ability to follow-up on task through to completion.

• Knowledge of plastic materials and process parameters for injection molding.
• Certified Overhead Crane Operator.
• Experience with end of arm tooling (EOAT) set-up.
• Experience with hand tools and torque wrenches.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude (instrumentation, pneumatics, hydraulics).
• Strength and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Ability to learn and comprehend Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills, including technically with various departments.
