Role Summary
Magna Lighting - Autosystems of America is looking for Molding Process Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines to mold thermoplastic parts.
- Observe continuous operation of injection molding machines to ensure that parts meet specifications and to detect any machine malfunctions or product defects, making adjustments as necessary.
- Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and completing first-off - last off documents.
- Ensure all auxiliary equipment is set to the correct settings per the baselines.
- Maintain best operating parameters (baselines) for tool and make any adjustments required to cycle the tool automatically. Troubleshooting and understanding the machine functions/setting issues.
- Monitor tool cleanliness
- Perform maintenance work such as cleaning and oiling machines.
- Read specifications, blueprints, work orders to determine setups and settings required to mold plastic materials, as well as to plan production sequences.
- Train/Mentor entry level process Techs and process Techs.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Completion of Associates or bachelor's degree preferred (2- or 4-year Mechanical degree). Experience can be substituted for education and vice versa
- 3 -5 years' experience as a Process Tech required
- Ability to learn and comprehend basic tool construction.
- Self-motivated, ability to follow-up on task through to completion.
- Knowledge of plastic materials and process parameters for injection molding.
- Certified Overhead Crane Operator.
- Experience with end of arm tooling (EOAT) set-up.
- Experience with hand tools and torque wrenches.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude (instrumentation, pneumatics, hydraulics).
- Strength and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Ability to learn and comprehend Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills, including technically with various departments.
