Job Overview
NOR Design & Construction LLC is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Lead Carpenter to join our Residential Construction Team. This senior leadership role is both “hands-on” and managerial, responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, guiding our carpentry team, and delivering exceptional client experiences. The Sr. Lead Carpenter plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, maintaining safe and clean job sites, managing subcontractors, and representing our company on-site with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities
The Sr. Lead Carpenter will:
• Perform skilled carpentry and construction tasks including:
• Framing and structural changes
• Cabinet, trim, and molding installation
• Door and window installation
• Interior finish carpentry and casing work
• Basic flooring installation/repair
• General handyman repairs for existing and new clients
• Lead and manage the construction team and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Maintain jobsite cleanliness, safety, and organization at all times.
• Ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
• Support the design team with construction methods, best practices, and cost-saving solutions.
• Read and interpret project scopes, plans, and CAD construction documents.
• Oversee inspections and work with city inspectors to prevent project delays.
• Manage procurement and material inventory, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Assist in hiring and mentoring future Assistant Carpenters.
• Represent NOR Design & Construction professionally with clients and trade partners.
Qualifications
• Required:
• 10+ years of hands-on residential construction and advanced carpentry experience.
• Prior supervisory experience managing construction teams.
• Excellent communication skills — professional, approachable, and client-facing.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Reliable transportation, clean driving record, and proof of insurance.
• Ability to pass background, MVR, and drug screenings.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lift up to 100 lbs, climb, crawl, stoop).
• Knowledge of OSHA and L&I safety requirements.
• Residence within 30 miles of Seattle.
• Preferred:
• Proficiency in reading CAD documents (floor plans, elevations, sections).
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
• Willingness to learn new project management software/tools.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Schedule
• Full-time, Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 5 PM
• Occasional flexibility depending on project scope and location.
