SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Sr. Program Manager, API Program Management will oversee and successfully implement operational growth strategies in support of Specialty Generics API portfolio. This position will assist in the development and execution of the global operations strategy to meet business requirements and drive capacity expansion across key product families. This role will direct the activity of two to three project managers as well as lead a cross-functional matrixed organization as required within and outside operations, including internal manufacturing, external manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, commercial and R&D. The position will oversee and execute operations strategies that will develop and ensure consistent and efficient flow of product across the supply chain from supplier to customer and enable best in class service to our internal and external customers

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Scope, initiating and leading cross-functional strategic initiatives across various business areas
• Lead small internal team to ensure timely, impact driven execution of strategic programs
• Connect and build relationships to analyze status quo, identify opportunities and risk, and liaise with business to drive improved outcome
• Drive and align necessary change management and learning support solutions across an organization through a broad understanding of innovation, people and business strategies
• Develop approach and provide guidance to analyze complex data sets; conduct select complex data analyses
• Define, update and review results of management reports to inform leadership team of project statuses, as well as provide the necessary controls and timely completion for projects.
• Understand the business model, operating process and service offerings of assigned practices, considering the impact on communications and the overall role.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder engagement.
• Provide that each staff member of the assigned engagement team(s) understands the content of the Project Scope and consider scope limitations.
• Collaborate as part of a cross-functional team to manage conflict and openly address challenges.
• Work collaboratively in non-hierarchical Strategic Programs team
• Create awareness, understanding and support for new business approaches and process improvements.
• Develop leadership presence and ensure continuous capability building across team members.
• Network with other internal functions and external companies to identify potential transformative strategies for global operations to increase efficiencies and cost reductions.
• Develop criteria and evaluate make versus buy decisions.
• Serve as Operations representative in the R&D portfolio management process.
• Act as contact for BD&L operational input, including due diligence evaluations.
• Global Operations team, colleagues in Business Development and other key stakeholders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: B.S. degree required, with MBA preferred.

Experience: 7-10 years of related experience including leadership in project management and operational strategy with 5 years managing direct reports.

Working knowledge of supply chain processes, lean methodology and operational strategy (e.g. make vs. buy, foot printing optimization)

Proven track record of performing financial and analytical analyses.

Strong understanding of commercial and other business requirements of drug substance and drug product supply

OPERATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The Sr Manager of API Program Management will functionally report to the VP, Global Manufacturing. This position will liaise with many departments across Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals including Operations, Quality, Procurement, R&D, and Commercial..

Working Conditions: This position will work primarily in an office type environment with some time spent in manufacturing areas. This position may require extensive travel.
