In this role, you will:
- Design and implement scalable systems to detect and mitigate harmful content, fraud, and abuse on the platform
- Build tools and automation to improve moderation workflows and reduce manual effort
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data Science, and Policy, to ensure Trust & Safety requirements are met
- Analyze and respond to incidents, conducting root cause analysis and contributing to system improvements
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in Trust & Safety to apply best practices to Quizlet’s systems
What you bring to the table:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend or full-stack development skills
- Familiarity with Trust & Safety domains, such as content moderation, abuse detection, or fraud prevention
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, PHP, JavaScript) and experience with distributed systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience working with machine learning models in Trust & Safety applications
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations related to content and user safety
- Familiarity with some or all of the following: Kubernetes, GitHub, CircleCI, ArgoCD, Datadog, Google Cloud, Terraform, Jira, Confluence, Slack

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $161,000 - $210,000, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
