Sr SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a SQL DBA with hands on Microsoft SQL & Azure Cloud database experience and MSSQL query performance/troubleshooting/tuning experience. Someone who can support current production systems and the various test environments derived from the production systems. This position will pivot between production activities and development activities as the need arises, working solo as well as in conjunction with other team members. This person will join a small, nimble, team working in a fast-paced environment for a great company where your opinion and experience matters.

Responsibilities: 

• Strong experience with performance query tuning.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to quickly highlight and resolve problems with database systems
• Audit server health, error logs, windows logs, and application performance to take corrective actions if needed.
• Implement HA-DR solutions in tandem with architects and SQL developers using multi-data center best practices.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server internals to troubleshoot, and suggest, or implement improvements for database performance gains.
• Automate day-to-day tasks to increase team productivity.
• Setup and configure SQL Server installations according to best practices.
• Tune and configure SQL backups to maintain RTO and RPO targets.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ minimum experience in MS SQL Server Database Administrator and has held a Senior DBA level position.
• Minimum 1 year experience using AzureAWS IaaS andor Azure PaaSAWS RDS.
• Experience creating and configuring Availability Groups and Listeners.
• Proven ability with query tuning dramatically improving database performance.
• database design and schema refactoring experience.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-moving and constantly changing environment.
• You have experience in the planning, design, and usage of database resources and providing support to development teams
• You have experience maintaining cloud-hosted environments such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
• Preferred but not required: You have experience programming in .NET & Entity Framework
• Preferred but not required: Working knowledge of API design and gateway tools, like Swagger, WSO2, Postman would be a plus

Compensation: Aya reasonably anticipates the pay scale for this position to an annual salary of $160,000 to $180,000.

The pay scale for this position may vary if applicant possesses experience outside of what Aya reasonably anticipates for this position. Bonuses are subject to the role and your manager’s discretion.
